Employee Calls Out adidas For Silence Regarding Ye's Antisemitic Tweets

“Until adidas takes a stand, I will not stand with adidas,” says the brand’s Director of Trade Marketing.

The pressure is on for adidas to make a move in response to Ye‘s recent outburst and continued behaviour, but it’s not just coming from fans of the brand this time.

The company’s Director of Trade Marketing, Sarah Camhi, recently shared a public LinkedIn post directed to adidas and its employees, urging the brand to do better. Camhi, who is of Jewish heritage, explained that adidas recently hosted its Global Week of Inclusion around the same time that Ye began posting his controversial thoughts, yet failed to address them both publicly and internally.

“Coming off of the adidas global week of inclusion, I am feeling anything but included,” Camhi began. “As a member of the Jewish community, I can no longer stay silent on behalf of the brand that employs me. Not saying anything, is saying everything. It’s been 14 days since Kanye started spewing anti-Semitic rhetoric and adidas has remained quiet; both internally to employees as well as externally to our customers.”

Camhi ended her post with a statement that read, “We need to do better for our employees and we need to do better for our communities. Until adidas takes a stand, I will not stand with adidas.”

The company put Ye’s YEEZY partnership in review earlier this month, but have since yet to address any of his comments or actions. According to Bloomberg, it’s likely that adidas now has no choice but to respond, with a potential statement rumored to be released today.

Stay tuned for more details.
