Take an Official Look at the Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Year of the Dragon"

A peek at Chinese New Year offerings.

In anticipation of the Chinese New Year, Jordan Brand released a preview of its upcoming “Year of the Dragon” colorway for the Air Jordan 1 Low OG. Now, the sneaker giant has gifted us with an official look at the festive footwear. Its metallic red and green aesthetic remains intact, a special charm can be seen on the silhouette, casting the Jumpman in silver with three orb tassels for an added jingle with each step.

Joining last year’s “Year of the Rabbit” collection, the reptilian-adjacent design celebrates the Chinese New Year. The festive sneakers arrive with a calm and cool “Sail” leather base, contrasting the “Oil Green” overlays, which are detailed with bumpy scales, nodding to the animal of the year. Red and gold are hallmark shades for the occasion and they make their presence known as Swooshes welcome a metallic crimson hue, coordinating with the laces and tongue tag, as well as the embroidered Wings logo on the heel.

A wealthy gold finds itself at the base of the heel, while Nike’s branding flaunts the lucky color as well. Silver makes an appearance as well, shining through on the lining and the semi-translucent outsole. A red envelope rests inside the shoe for an extra touch.

While you wait for a January 24 release, with the kicks priced at $160 USD via Nike SNKRS and select retailers, take a closer look at the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Year of the Dragon” in the gallery above.
