Cecilie Bahnsen’s ongoing partnership with ASICS seamlessly blends couture elements with sneaker design, consistently selling out and never disappointing with each new release. Now, Bahnsen takes center stage at Paris Fashion Week SS24, revealing her take on the ASICS GEL GT-2160 sneaker, a beautiful Mary Jane hybrid shoe.
In a departure from the norm, this women’s silhouette defies traditional sneaker conventions by offering extended sizing up to US 10.5. The design pushes boundaries by replacing the conventional vamp with a choice of metallic silver or gloss black velcro straps embellished with exquisite floral detailing. Transparent panels showcase floral prints, cleverly diverting attention from the usual ASICS branding on the medial and lateral walls. Adding to its allure, the shoe features a distinctive two-eyelet lace setup resembling a dainty bow on the toe.
Bahnsen shared her creative vision on Instagram, stating, “Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS; paying homage to the studied craftsmanship and passion invested in this collaboration, echoing the artistry behind each shoe. Trainers are displayed on plinths in a raw space creating a striking contrast in merging Cecilie Bahnsen’s feminine universe with ASICS’s technical appeal.”
