Here’s What Went Down at Converse’s Run Star Trainer Pop-Up With Hypebae

On July 21, Converse and Hypebae hit NYC for a pop-up celebrating a co-branded collectible zine featuring the Run Star Trainer.

The spirit of summer was in the air over the past weekend in New York City as Boston-based brand Converse celebrated the recent release of the Run Star Trainer and the launch of a co-branded collectible zine. In collaboration with Hypebae, Converse took over the streets of Dimes Square and Washington Square Park Sunday, July 21, for the Run Star Trainer Pop-Up and an ice cream truck activation.

As part of the activation, Converse and Hypebae collaborated on a collectible zine spotlighting TikTok fashion trends dominating the style scene in NYC. Starting at noon in Dimes Square, curious bystanders were presented with the zine, including various style identities featuring the Run Star Trainer, curated by Hypebae. While they skimmed through the zine, identifying the micro aesthetics that match their own fashion approach, they got sweet tastes of gelato from the pop-up’s ice cream truck.

Inspired by the exclusive zine’s ten style vibes, the gelato menu’s names and flavors took thematic cues from each fashion aesthetic. Ranging from a tropical mango flavor, tied to the trend of island-inspired wear, to a sweet strawberry option, an ode to the charming coquette aesthetic, guests got their pick of summertime treats at the pop-up.

Later in the afternoon, the all-day event transitioned to Washington Square Park where melodic tunes continued to play, keeping the vibes alive and active as guests mixed and mingled. The Run Star Trainer Pop-Up came to a close in the early evening, after a day of dynamic interactions and an inside look into the collectible zine covering popular TikTok fashion trends.

In the galleries above, see how Converse’s Run Star Trainer Pop-Up with Hypebae came to life in New York City.
