Halle Bailey‘s role in The Little Mermaid was highly controversial for many racists within the world of pop culture. As Bailey classily navigated through the pressure, fans grew upset with her boyfriend, Youtuber DDG, who seemingly put her in the line of fire. In October of 2024, DDG announced that the celebrity couple split causing the drama to resurface. However, where “fans” expected her to stumble, the “Angel” singer is moving gracefully.

“After much reflection and heartfelt conversation, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways,” DDG shared via his Instagram stories. “This decision was not easy, but we believe it’s the best path forward for both of us.”
Bailey has yet to comment on the breakup. But after days of silence — while DDG went on a “why we broke up” tour — she shared a photo dump with their child captioned “Life Is Beautiful.” Adding insult to injury, the post was tuned to Destiny’s Child’s “Survivor.”

A few days later, Bailey vulnerably reached out to her mom fans for advice. “Flying tonight to be somewhere for one day but having crippling anxiety without my son” she said before asking for tips on handling leaving for work. Despite dealing with a breakup, her post made one thing clear: her concern is her son.
