Last month, global label Modibodi hosted an intimate party in partnership with Hypebae to celebrate the launch of its period proof Renaissance collection – a new Intimates range that fuses lacy materials with leak-proof protection to deliver reliable yet sexy lingerie.

In a stylish and sensual start to London Fashion Week, the event took place at the low-lit, speakeasy Dõna Bar located in the buzzing area of Stoke Newington. For one night only, the luscious red interiors were decorated with lacy lingerie from the new collection. Slung on mirrors, placed in frames, and laid next to blooming red florals, the delicate pieces not only accentuated the bar’s unique boudoir atmosphere but also marked Modibodi’s arrival in London.

As soon as it turned 7 p.m., guests from the local fashion and wellness communities filtered through the door and to the “Modibodi Members’ Club.” Greeted by the upbeat tunes of Miss Knox’s DJ set, they grabbed refreshments, choosing from a selection of period-inspired spins on classic cocktails; Crimson Crush Negroni, Pink Wave Paloma, Moon-cycle Hibiscus Negroni, and a Ruby Flow mocktail. Drinks were quickly followed by some Mexican bites – such as tamales, mango salsa, and spicy empanadas – with flavors to complement the bar menu.

As guests continued to arrive, Freshta’s DJ set kept the vibe alive as some lined up for their turn on the beauty makeover chairs. On one side, Topaz Gemz was seen applying an array of sparkling tooth gems including a daring blood drop jewel. Also drawing inspiration from the period theme, Modern Lizard, an experimental makeup artist, was situated on the opposite side giving guests red eye makeup in various styles and shades.

The night came to a close with a set by DJ Tara Kumar who played a mix of classic dance anthems and hip-hop hits. After the final track and the energy began to wind down, guests were gifted a piece from the Renaissance collection, giving them a chance to experience the feel of its signature, period-safe dainty lingerie.
