Sinead Gorey SS25 Takes Us Back To High School Prom
Featuring the brand’s latest HMD collab and 2.5 inch Converse wedges.
Sinead Gorey often draws from personal experiences. For her Fall/Winter 2024 showcase, she focused on the teenage girl uniform, from spiky rubber earrings to PVC bodycon dresses. This Spring/Summer 2025, she explores prom but from an outsider’s perspective. “She’s the outcast — ditching the typical prom dress, probably skipping prom entirely and going straight to the afterparty,” Gorey explains. For those familiar with the 2008 teen romcom, Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, this SS25 set was giving Georgia’s birthday party scene.
With high expectations, we definitely enjoyed the SS25 show and we’ve written a full review in case you missed it.
WHERE: The show was set in a sports hall decked out with kitsch pink foil, tinsel and ribbons because where else would you have your high school prom?
SEE: With a color palette of cotton candy pinks and pastels contrasted with blacks, this collection displayed exactly what a teenage girl would look, wear and act. The Gorey girl is still young and naive but she is finding her style. She experiments with more rebellious pieces, since, she’s not a little girl anymore and prom is the perfect opportunity to show it off. School is officially out and she wears stuffed, ribbon-fastened body cons, bejewelled in diamantés, pierced corsets, incredibly short shorts and another violation of school clothing policy — sweetheart necklines, lingeries frills and lace-up fronts to show off that cleavage coming in.
Sinead Gorey spotlighted the return of Converse in a big way, unveiling the newly relaunched the “XXHi,” “Chuck Taylor All-Star” and “Chuck 70 Wedge” — confirming that Converse is officially back in the spotlight. Adding to the excitement, the brand introduced its latest collaboration with Human Mobile Devices, featuring the “HMD Skyline.” On the runway, models seamlessly integrated the tech into fashion, carrying phones tucked into bespoke spiked belts, bras and jean pockets, merging utility with a rebellious style.
TOUCH: It’s prom, right? So, dress the part — well, sort of. Think silks, satins, soft cottons and tight nylon bodysuits, but with an edge: denim, studs, fur and lace adding a rebellious twist. It’s the perfect blend of the Gorey girl’s playful innocence and bold defiance.
