Makeup Artist Marcelo Gutierrez Is Launching His First Photo Book

‘Nothing Precious’ features artistic imagery of Gabriette, Paloma Elsesser, Joan Smalls and more.

Columbian-born makeup artist Marcelo Gutierrez has just announced the release of his first book, Nothing Precious. This stunning collection of photos offers a glimpse into his creative journey over the last 10 years in New York City. Collaborating with the photographers Renell Medrano and Aidan Zamiri, the book pays tribute to the muses who have played a pivotal role in shaping Gutierrez’s artistic vision. In past projects, Gutierrez has worked with celebrities and creatives such as Madonna, Paloma Elsesser, Rosalía, Bella Hadid, Lourdes Leon, Emily Ratajkowski, Tokischa and Hari Nef.

“This is a book about beauty’s intrinsic relationship to personality and self-hood,” Gutierrez said in an Instagram post. “It fills my heart with so much love to be able to call upon my community for something that took so much effort and so much care all without a publisher.”

If you flip to the first page, you’ll find a foreword by it-girl Lily-Rose Depp, who speaks about the multi-hyphenate’s creativity and passion for beauty. Throughout the photo collection, you’ll find images of Gabriette, Paloma Elsesser, Lourdes Leon, Joan Smalls and more of fashion’s favorites.

Nothing Precious is not just a book; it’s a celebration of the power of collaboration, community, and the importance of prioritizing your personal artistic agenda and legacy,” states Gutierrez. “It’s about honoring the people who have been instrumental in shaping my career, while also capturing the spirit of the incredible creative forces around me.”

Marcelo Gutierrez’s Nothing Precious book retails for $75 USD and will launch on November 21. Gutierrez will also be holding a book signing on the launch date from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Climax Books in New York City.
