MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon Officially Unveil the X-ALP
A hiking-inspired silhouette for sneaker minimalists.
MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon are finally unveiling the new X-Alp silhouette, teased earlier this year. Marking one of the duo’s more subtle collaborations, the hiking shoe marks the first drop in a series of footwear designs, reimagined by the MM6 design studio.
Initially debuted as a functional hiking shoe, the new X-Alp boasts two minimal colorways, fusing technical details and an aerodynamic shape with a hint of luxury. Housed in monochrome black and cream colorways, the shoe’s design is contrasted by black detailing and varying shades of ivory and white.
Elsewhere, the signature numeric MM6 logo appears on the shoe’s tongue, acting as an artisanal hallmark which looks to complement the hi-tec aesthetic of the Salomon logo. The new release is soon to be followed by another minimal collaboration from the duo, landing in the form of the XT-4 sneaker mule.
