SUNNEI and CC-Tapis Just Dropped Your Dream Rug Collection
Remember the SUNNEI FW24 show? Well, now you can take a piece of the set design home with you.
At Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2024, SUNNEI exhibited its show at the contemporary rug brand, cc-tapis’ headquarters. Models walked down bespoke, colourfully striped 72 square metered rugs co-created by the two Milanese design houses. The carpeted piece consisted of primary block colors embossed with two-dimensional silhouettes of animal shaped cutouts of koalas, frogs, stars, butterflies and hippos.
In this newly released collection, the original runway rug has been abstracted into seven striped distinctive rectangular sized rugs, each echoing the colors from the original design. Made with automated robotufting technology, the pieces are created with Econyl yarn, made from recycled Nylon waste — a fabric known for its reusability that can be regenerated throughout time.
Though never been released until now, the seven pieces were shown during Milan’s Design Week as part of the “CONVEY” exhibit, a highly popular Fuori Salone venue. SUNNEI also hosted a retrospective at its headquarters that week, spotlighting the entire project and featuring the iconic runway rug.
Through this collection, the esteemed Milanese design houses display a heartfelt narrative of friendship, celebration of color, mutual respect and a shared commitment to collaboration.
The limited stock of SUNNEI x cc-tapis rugs are now available on the SUNNEI and cc-tapis websites with more available coming this fall.
