The latest stop of W Hotels‘ cultural initiative W PRESENTS lands in Budapest, Hungary with headline act Bora Uzer. Following the tour of Edinburgh with the founders of LUNCH concept, Hypebae enlists Berlin-based content creator Marvin Mario to take us to his Budapest hotspots as he gears up for the high-energy event at W Budapest.

Located on Andrássy Avenue, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, W Budapest is a daring hotel that has carefully restored and reimagined the historic Drechsler Palace, previously home to the Institute of Ballet. As well as its gothic-style architecture that preserves the building’s legacy and fits cohesively with its surroundings, the luxury hotel also hosts a range of innovative concepts and amenities influenced by Budapest’s rich history, creativity, and diversity. From unique food options to a curated programming line-up, W Budapest — dubbed a “Social Beacon” — aims to serve its space as a community hub fostering conversation, creativity, and curation.

For the first stop on his Budapest trip, Mario visits the House of Music Hungary — the country’s first comprehensive museum space exhibiting both the history and future of music. Taking in the city’s historical landscape, he leads us to the Fisherman’s Bastion, another architectural landmark that looks over the Danube River. Climbing the steps of this 19th-century castle, Mario soaks up the breathtaking views of the city from its elevated lookout.

After a long day of exploring, he returns to W Budapest to experience the hotel’s facilities. With a WET® pool and opulent AWAY® Spa inspired by the thermal baths that Budapest is famed for, these underground relaxation areas provide the ultimate space to unwind. With no details overlooked, the spa offers a range of luxurious treatment menus while the pool’s unique interior design merges traditional tiles and gold mesh to recreate the feeling of an oasis.

After heading back to his suite to freshen up for the evening, Mario visits the Nightingale by Beefbar terrace for a bite to eat, looking out across from the impressive views of the city’s iconic Hungarian State Opera House. As the night draws closer, he makes his way to the W Lounge for the main act of W PRESENTS, Bora Uzer. Revered for his eclectic style, the artist’s illustrious electronic sets and energetic performance had the crowd on their feet until the early hours. “It was a show like I’ve never seen before,” Mario says. “[Uzer] had the whole party jumping.”
