Binaurale's New Scent Captures the Magic of Live Music and Endless Nights
Meet “Matchbox Romance.”
Miami-based perfume brand Binaurale has just launched its fifth scent, “Matchbox Romance.” A tribute to the founders’ first moments together dancing when out together, the fragrance mimics the feeling of time stopping in a smokey club, listening to live music. It’s aimed to reawaken the memory of a late night, with the feeling of a fuzzy Persian rug under your feet.
“Matchbox Romance” was created by Frank Voelkl, a senior perfumer at Firmenich — it’s a fragrance that endures long after the evening has passed. Its complexity and depth captivates the senses, beginning with a striking match-like spark, before unfolding into dark floral notes of rose de mai and carnation, seamlessly blended with warm spices. These florals are embraced by velvety vanilla bourbon and incense smoke, resulting in a fragrance that feels both rich and nostalgic.
Created by husband and wife duo Arielle and Jack in Miami, each fragrance from Binaurale is a collaborative effort with perfumers Jérôme Epinette, Clément Marx and Frank Voelkl — blending ideas, images, music and emotions into a unique olfactory experience. The scents combine natural ingredients from around the world with lab-made molecules, all while being vegan, cruelty-free and allergen-free. With a focus on both tradition and experimentation, the brand’s goal is to evoke new, distinctive feelings through scent and visuals.
