Gigi Hadid Stars in the New Dilara x Heaven by Marc Jacobs Campaign
Showcasing a collection inspired by Avril Lavigne, short skirts and band tees.
Heaven by Marc Jacobs has done it again. Another incredible collaboration, with another impressive talent. Teaming up with London-based designer Dilara Findikoglu, Heaven just released the ultimate grunge girl summer campaign, courtesy of an unrecognizable Gigi Hadid.
Lensed by Alana O’herlihy and styled by Danielle Emerson, the campaign showcases Hadid in a selection of Findikoglu’s dream pieces, inspired by her high school wardrobe (or at least, what she wished her high school wardrobe looked like.)
“When I was creating this collection, I had my high school years in mind where I was listening to Avril Lavigne, Runaways, Bikini Kill, Girlschool and trying to find my identity wearing metallic blue Marc Jacobs platforms, Gothic lolita dresses and band t-shirts,” Findikoglu says in a press release.
She adds, “I wanted to create a skirt that was similar to my Topshop high school skirt that was so short to wear to school that my teacher called my mum [and asked her] to throw it away, which she eventually did. The print on the corset is illustrated by talented Sophie McElligott, it’s a surreal interpretation of what would Marie Antoinette’s feast look like. This small wardrobe really is the dream wardrobe of my teenage self and I want them to be dream pieces of all girls now!”
