Keke Palmer Details Relationship With Darius Jackson for First Time
In her new book, “Master of Me,” Palmer reveals the truth.
In a 2023 interview with the TODAY show, Keke Palmer was asked whether she and Darius Jackson, the father of her child, are still together. For those unfamiliar, Jackson publicly slut shamed Palmer after Usher serenaded her on stage at a Las Vegas show. “It’s the outfit tho… you a mom,” he said at the time. Her response was: “I’m going to take a page out of Beyoncé’s book: Mind y’all’s business.”
However, after a year, Palmer is ready to break her silence. In her book, she writes: “It was like, not only is this the person, but this is the time. It felt very spiritual for Darius and I,” she continued. “We had separate lonelinesses, and we created a space for us to exist in that loneliness together. And then we wanted to have a son. Leo was very planned.”

However, the relationship grew toxic before Jackson’s public slut shaming, she continued. “It got so out of control. The only way I knew how to bring order was through the court.”
Although the situation wasn’t “black-and-white,” she revealed that motherhood and her fame seemed to be an issue for Jackson. “I wish I could say he was terrible the entire time or that I was… but it wasn’t that black-and-white and that was the problem… I didn’t want my son to think his father is a monster, because I don’t.” Jackson has recently entered the military. “I’m so proud of him and happy for him. I feel very at ease now knowing things are under control.”
